Featherweight Service Workshop

Did you know that the Featherweight was the first machine designed to be maintained by the user? Yes, YOU can maintain your Featherweight,

no more trips to the service desk!  This is a comprehensive workshop, geared toward the Featherweight owner that wants to really get to know and understand the machine, and know how to service it to keep it in tip-top shape.​

Class Location:  Sewing Doc & Academy in Cumming, Georgia

Cost:  $125 per person, includes full kit of supplies

In order to reserve your space, we recommend reserving with payment

as soon as possible.  Class size is limited to 6 people.

This class will cover all of the following and more:

Removing all covers and components of the machine

 

How to fully and properly clean the machine, both the initial cleaning and each time YOU service your machine

Checking motor brushes, lubricating the motor


How to fully and properly lubricate the machine


What chemicals to use and what to avoid - it's a very delicate process!


How to really make your machine shine


Basic use of the machine, including winding bobbins, upper threading, bobbin threading, needle insertion, etc.

Workshop for a Guild or Private Group?

I can accommodate!

Yes, I can visit your Guild, Bee or host a private class!  Each class requires a minimum of 6 people and a maximum of 15 people.  For locations more than 20 miles from Kennesaw, Georgia, mileage will be added to the cost of the class.

Private classes for groups and guilds can also be hosted in our facility!
